We support the United Church Missions and Service Fund with monthly donations from the congregation.

Aberfoyle School's Food Pantry:

We support the Aberfoyle School's Food Pantry with a monthly donation to assist in keeping the pantry stocked.

Gifts with Vision:

Annual "LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR" projects are chosen from Gifts with Vision; a giving catalog from the people of The United Church of Canada

Chalmers Community Services Centre

Chalmers Community Services Centre provides orderly, respectful, non-judgmental “top-off” food supplies, and household items to those in need to enable participants to become more self-reliant and socially connected. *Our congregation participates in the Christmas Gift Bag Campaign each year. *Our congregation collects and donates food items and other essentials on the last Sunday of every month. *Our congregation collects and donates warm socks during the winter months.

The Rural Women’s Support Programme South East

The Rural Women’s Support Programme South East (Women In Crisis) provides free support services to women and their children living in Wellington County and connects women to Marianne’s Place Shelter.. Annual congregation project: Gift cards are donated for the mothers to purchase gifts for their children at Christmas time.

Michael House

Michael House is Guelph’s not-for-profit, non-denominational, charitable organization dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing residence for young pregnant women. Opened in 2003, Michael House is a place where young women can receive housing and assistance during their pregnancy, childbirth and for a period after the birth of their newborn. Congregational project (2019): Fill a baby bottle with spare change in honour of Father’s Day.

Canadian Foodgrains Bank

Canadian Food Grains Bank is a partnership of Canadian Church-based agencies working to end hunger in developing countries by increasing and deepening the involvement of Canadians in efforts to end hunger; supporting partnerships and activities to reduce hunger on both an immediate and sustainable basis; influencing changes in public policies necessary to end hunger. *Annual Congregation Event: Pancake Luncheon sponsored by the Mission and Outreach Committee in support of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. Government quadruples funds donated.

OUTREACH PROGRAMS

All funds raised by Mission and Outreach after expenses are distributed to various charitable organizations.

In December Community Seniors’ can enjoy being served an “all of the trimmings” Christmas Dinner by pre-purchasing a ticket.

**June Strawberry social: Free will offering is used to support the work of the Mission and Outreach Committee. This year it supported Wellington Weight Watchers.

**Hosted annually: the Pancake Luncheon in support of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. Government quadruples our donation.

**Prayer Shawl and Card Ministry Group meets on the 3rd Wesdnesay of the month (excluding July and August) Knit and Crocheted afghans, lapghans and baby blankets are made by approx. 10 members. These “gift creations” are given to many people: hospital/health, death of a loved one, birth of a baby, off to college, Guest speakers, moving away, For a Friend “just because” (having a difficult time/issue) etc. Gift Creations are currently being given to every Morriston Nursing Home patient.
